Hi guys i'm having trouble fitting my 1956 Chinese military sks to a jungle stock. The shock is cut for the blade bayonet . it also has the u shape rear swivel hardware. I did some fitting already , the rifle does drops into the stock but has a 1/16 gap at the rear . When i press the rear flush with the stock . i can feel it see-sawing that extra 1/16''. The problem i'm having is i can't get the fix magazine to sit in properly , its sit to high for the release latch to lock on to it . PS i have not touch the cross bolt but it looks like it been worked on , but then again this stock was listed as NOS .
You have this gap after having latched down the trigger assembly? Can you post pics of this gap, and the crossbolt area when assembled with NO mag?
No i can't put the trigger on , because the magazine doesn't sit all the way down and the magazine release latch does not catch the magazine.

It sounds like the magazine is not seated properly. Sometimes they hang up at the rear when trying to install them. Pull it out, make sure the front is seated all the way forward, and then give the rear a smack with your hand to pop it in place.

OK guys i was going to post pictures , but i decided to give it another try. Here what happen i place the magazine in a gave it a wack on the back side with my hand . It fell in place i put the rifle together for a test run with snap caps after i cycle the first round the bolt stay open the charging handle won't go forward unless i put my finger from the top and press down on the mag . what did i do wrong.

That's how it's supposed to work, that's the bolt hold open after last shot. There is a spring loaded plate that gets pushed up by the magazine after the last round and blocks the bolt from going forward.
You can pull the bolt back and push the plate down, or you can pull the bolt back and drop the mag and then let the bolt close.
I known about the bolt open on the last round , but i should be able to pull back the charger handle and it should slam home ,but it stays stuck it never did that before.

With a round in the mag, or with an empty mag?

That does look great, I have always been on the fence regarding the jungle stocks...but that is pretty cool looking!
Finding them with the hardware is usually the tricky part, especially the ones with the U type sling swivel. Is this one of the ones that recently showed up from that place in Houston?
One thing, well two...get a cleaning rod on there first of all, but it appears you have an early Russian bayonet, or at least bayonet handle on there. It has the straight ears, where your Chinese should have the angled ears...which is why your handle won't fully seat.
Those straight eared ones are less common handles...sometimes commanding a little more cash if there is someone looking for one...but most often a hassle for who is dealing with having the wrong variation.
You can find them on eBay usually for less than ten bucks....or, I have a couple extras. :)
Hey Justin thanks . Yes i pick up the jungle stock off Fee-bay the seller is in Houston Texan. I also have the cleaning rod that came with my 1956 6 digit Ghost , which i will put on right away .
