This 10mil factory /26\ Chinese SKS showed up yesterday. All matching numbers, including gas tube except for mag which is mismatched and gas piston which is un numbered. Previous owner had “Kivaari”, Tom Prince located in Texas do a trigger job and set for postive engagement and also install a Murrays firing pin with spring in the bolt. Just the parts and labor for that is around $100. I snagged it from the seller off of GB for $345. Tom does some great work! That trigger sure is sweet! dance2

Not yet. Will do it when I can.
20k give or take SKSs earlier it's older brother was born, it lives at my house. Mine also has a P suffix.
Was this the year that they went from oil finishes to shellac? Mine is oil...and while I like having a damn near pristine oil finished SKS, I avoid using it much because it is too pretty....and prone to becoming not so pretty.
That's a beauty! thumb1
Pretty sure the Chinese have always been shellac, unless earlier ones were some similar varnish?
