Title: Odd spot for serial number
Post by: Greasemonkey on June 14, 2017, 10:42:53 PM
I was cleaning another purchase from last week today.. All the numbers matched.. :)

The bolt.. yup nothing new...

(http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af283/C13mechanic/Chinese%20stuff/0138/SAM_2687_zps99tyiay0.jpg) (http://s1016.photobucket.com/user/C13mechanic/media/Chinese%20stuff/0138/SAM_2687_zps99tyiay0.jpg.html)

the extractor.. good so far  thumb1

(http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af283/C13mechanic/Chinese%20stuff/0138/SAM_2682_zpsplnr31zl.jpg) (http://s1016.photobucket.com/user/C13mechanic/media/Chinese%20stuff/0138/SAM_2682_zpsplnr31zl.jpg.html)

And this, I found even the extractor retaining pin has the serial etched, I thought it was scratched kinda funky at first...so I chiselled off the nasty grease from yesteryear, it's faint, but there, especially the last 3 digits...

Strange spot for a serial number..a first for me.

I have seen EP'd serials on extractors and the firing pin retainers before. Mostly on earlier guns.

Naw nea1 perish the thought, besides, they all look alike, work the same and do the same thing, except them weird Albanian things, they have a different look and everyone has seen a photo of them, somewhere.

I wouldn't wanna bore anyone with another SKS on an SKS forum, looking at another one would be like binge watching the Lifetime channel. :o And your supposed to post Mosins on a SKS forum anyways......right thumb1

I texted you a picture...what else ya want  thumb1

If the firing pin is not ep'd to match-- it's gonna be tough convincing anyone else that it is truly 'all matching'.

No clue, didn't pull it out.....my A.D.D. kicked in and I got board and went and played on the tractor, rotated my tires, used a leaf blower to clean out the car :)

  What nationalities were they from?

It is posted in the Chinese Military forum, so that should be a first clue.   :)

But until we see the gun, maybe GM just picked the wrong section to post?

Could be the elusive Bangladesh!
