Surfed the gun show today, stumbled on this Finn m27.
I'll admit it, I had no freaking clue what it was. I just knew it looked nothing like my m39.
So Mr. Dudeman behind the ropes tells me what it is, Finn m27, $275 OTD.
I start ****ing about the cracked stock, mismatching bolt, mismatching mag, and the fact that Mosins are the most overrated and inexplicably lauded surps in existence...even the Finns...so I offer $250, hoping he'd refuse.
"Give me the money" was his prompt reply.
Really, this is a neat rifle, and the guts are still packed in cosmo. I don't pretend to know jack about Mosins but I know this much:
Tikkakoski manufacture, Russian spliced stock, type 2 nose cap with the "popsicle stick", great bore, rates a 7 on the rarity scale according to 54.net, plugged sling slots, and "winged" bolt connector with the corresponding notches in the receiver. And that's about all I can rattle off. For the money, I think I made out like a champ.

What an overrated piece of **** mosin.
lol kidding. Nice steal
Don't know about "stinking", I can't smell it from here but I say it looks pretty danged good Blicero!
Nice! And you can shoot x54 out of it, being "D" marked.
The "D" stamp means it was modified to allow the Finnish D166 round or use standard Russian capture heavy ball ammo..
Very nice. So when does the other gun safe arrive?

My sentiments exactly! I thought you only bought nice guns Blicero? That canoe paddle is black mark on your reputation as a snobbish collector!
Nice score! thumb1 I've never seen an M27 but I like the look--the Finnish finish is more interesting. I also have a soft spot for the underdogs that fought off Stalin in WWII.
The hinged upper barrel band reminds me a bit of the K98a band.
Don't let RM paddle his kayak/canoe/Kon-Tiki papyrus raft down the Rio Grande with that beautiful rifle. bat1 :))
