Acquired this today......is this a 6616? Thought the import stamp was interesting as well.

Looks like a /6616\ yes.  Import stamp is the ACC stamp, #3 here: http://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=2111.msg24364#msg24364

Is it matching?  Run that puppy through the survey! (http://form.jotform.us/form/41858512574158)

Nice!

I've got a 1970 /6616\-- cheese grater hand gaurd and mismatched trigger and mag (a matched pair, though) and the stock has been sanded hell and back and give the poly treatment. Great shooter though.

Also, matching is in the eye of the beholder. I'd say the magazine matches quite well:

Darn it, how did I miss that?  That place selling it is only about 1 1/2hr drive from me.  I could have bought it, drove up there to pick it up and save on the shipping fee.   >:(
Yep, you got a good deal on it.

think1     Ok.. maybe it the fact of I worked all night, just woke up and haven't drank my required gallon of coffee Besplode

But.... I have too know................ What the ^&%# is up with the socks, mandals and chicken legs?  Do I have to use some kind of super secret click code on the photo to see a SKS?

Are the mandals from 1970 and Chinese made, you said it's a matched pair...ok, left and right, maybe the socks had the poly treatment, are you talking about sporting cheese grater shin protectors with that ensemble.

I honestly can say.....I don't think the magazine matches, at all..I just don't see it.   nea1

I thought photobucket was being weird again...nice to see someone other than my wife and father in law wear socks with sandals...I think.  :-\

I have a hard enough time wearing them with Chucks....I have to shove them down as far as they can go....and I am the king of chicken legs....although, my calves make me look like a contender for the Tour de France.  It must be all the wandering around the house that ADD causes.

No magic links here. I was just making a humorous roundabout comment on impressions of style-- and then punning off the other meaning of "matching". I'm not a fan of the duckbill banana mags, but in the photo of the rifle it doesnt actually look that bad. But I attribute that largely to the photo scheme more than anything else.

Aesthetically speaking, the duckills and bananas are wholly unappealing, as are the 20round Chinese internal mags. But if there were a straight style 20rd internal or external box magazine for the sks-- one that resembled the profile of the M1A but which could be stripper fed-- I'd get one for half of my collection in a hot second.

Having said that, I still think the GB photo of the op's rifle is about as appealing a case as there is to be made for a duckbill banana mag on an sks.

Were I in the market for another sks, I would have bought that rifle too.
