Title: Chinese SKS Question?
Post by: Guy Fawkes on April 18, 2017, 08:01:53 PM
A stock for a Pinned barrel model SKS will not fit a SKS threaded barrel model, I  read. Is it possible to make stock for a Pinned barrel model SKS fit a SKS threaded barrel model? Will a little dremel work do it?

Your going to have to relieve a little material where the barrel lug hits the stock, and file/grind the rearward flat of the crossbolt to clear the receiver face.

Once you've gotten the  lug area widened, you may also have perform some minor work elswhere to get the receiever to fit properly with the crossbolt.

Just proceed a little bit of material at a time.

Would a fiberglass stock fit on it? How does it sound, doing a little dremel work on that kind of stock?

Those are a little more collectible these days. Finding a fiberglass stock for a threaded lug would be easier. A threaded lug SKS stock for sale is not difficult to find online.
