Picked this up not long ago - getting harder and harder to find this in unmolested/unfired state.

P.S. anyone know what this particular cartouche indicates?

Downright sexy there Luke!
I love seeing letter guns with their original ruby laminated stocks. Very classy looking!

She's got a few minor dings, but nothing major, thanks! From the appearance of the bolt face (still covered in cosmo, haven't really detail cleaned it yet, just a quick wipe down) looks to have been very few, if any, rounds through it yet.

P.S. she fits in well with my small milsurp group

Please tell me you used some kind of filter on that group shot...even your flooring is spectacular.

It's Tula arsenal inspection cartouche
I've wanted a non-refurb letter gun with the original laminated stock for a while, unfortunately have not been able to find a deal. They are rare in the US

LOL...no filter, just an HDR shot. :)

Not so common up here anymore either; even just last year they were fairly easy to find but have dried up fast and I figured I should grab one before they're all gone into hiding.

Funny, I liked it so much that I changed my desktop background to it. Your floor matches my wall...it kind of makes my laptop screen look transparent...and the guns on my wall look gigantic. 8)

Happy to oblige then - taking pics (I wouldn't rate it as photography LOL) is another hobby of mine :)
You know i have never seen a unsanded stock up here, and to be honest i think the stock grain and color is 80% of why i buy them

One of the factors I consider for sure.

you're in Canada or US?
Canada, everything ive ever seen was refinished to as new or refinished, but i never see the stock cartouches around here. I usually make the clerk show me 3 or 4 before i buy one so ive looked at a few.

If you're a member of CGN, they come up from time to time on the EE there -that's where I got this one.
I have the worst luck buying long guns online, never look like the photo, or fall apart, or something similar. I did sign up on cgn a few years back, but almost instantly forgot my login info to get to the restricted parts.

It's the only place I'll buy guns online, have picked up a few there including some high end pistols with no problems. As for any of the other Canadian FA private sale sites.....well, I wouldn't touch them with a Mosin 91/30 LOL!

Finally got around to detail stripping/cleaning this thing - the bolt was a slamfire waiting to happen, was gunked up real bad. Was an interesting job documenting the myriad markings on this rifel, right down to the smallest bits 'n pieces including the firing pin and extractor!
