Title: Is it worth saving as is?
Post by: SmittySKS on October 24, 2016, 12:53:46 PM
While waiting for parts to come in, I was wondering (as I seem to do too much) since this isn't a #s matching rifle, should I pine over it? I feel in the future these Yugos are destined to only go up in price. But mines has very few matching #s. Should I care? Or just go shoot it and do what ever to it I want. I saw one with a black painted stock that I really liked.  8)

Is it a M59 or M59/66. Reason I ask is that the M59 not all parts are stamped or ep'd. So one might think it a non matching gun when it really is. Pics would always help but IMO as an older fella, id leave it alone. But there is a market out there for evil, refinished, sks.

Everything goes up in price....such is life. thumb1 Shoot it, enjoy it, and a mis-matched part on an already mis-matched rifle is nothing to get excited about and loose sleep over. You cant see those serial numbers looking down the sights at a target. :)

Also, usually even a mis-matched weapon will usually be more collectable and more valuable than a permanently altered, chopped, fluff and buffed rifle, if you alter it, make it reversible at least.

And if the other gives you movement.....buy it too thumb1 like Oreos you cant have just one rofl2

I picked it up pretty cheap with the thought of making it a Libs nightmare here in Jersey. Folding stock, flash hider, pistol grip, cut the barrel to 16.5. Maybe even leave the bayonet. But after fondling it for awhile I'm starting to feel differently.  think1

New lockers and safes are made everyday, I saw one come of the truck just today, besides, a home addition would do wonders for resale and overall home value, especially one thats safe and secure. Dont hide behind excuses rofl chuckles1

Nuts is a political generalization, like being profiled. I might have a few "issues", like harboring two people in my head, arguing and answering myself but I ain't in no way nuts, the other guy in here is thumb1

Old rifles  ::)  think1 geeze my Swiss Vetterli from 1871 must be prehistoric, maybe a Neanderthal once killed a mammoth with it.. chuckles1 rofl2

P32, your the second person to say that.. lies I and Jimmy says(hey we agree), it's all lies.  rofl2

Don't listen to RM....once you go Romanian...you never go back  thumb1 rofl2
