I had asked Joe about this one, but didn't hear back from him. I don't think it fits into the known Navy Arms categories.....so I think it's just a regular model modded by NA. Received it today and it is much better shape than I expected. Bluing is actually pretty nice. Matching except I cannot make out the gas piston. This may be common for this later rifles, but the FSB, gas block, stock retainer and rear sight block are all cast. Trigger assembly is stamped and as mentioned previously, the receiver cover is stamped as well. The NA Co stamp is the deepest and clearest of any I have owned. Stock is in pretty good shape too.
The scope surprised me with how bright it is, although the resistance on the focus feels a little loose. This being my first NA scoped rifle that actually had the scope....I was very surprised when I shouldered the rifle and looked through it.....it felt somewhat awkward.....feels like the eye piece needs to be about three inches further aft. Can't wait to shoot it....but I think I will wait for this little wind storm we got brewing to go on by first.....:)
Oh...on that note...sorry about the pics.....I can't take the rife outside in this mess....

Looks like a nice clean carbine! Congrats! thumb1 :)
I'll be interested to hear how it shoots after Typhoon Songda's angry ghost has passed on through. Stay away from power lines and fragile trees Pat :)
That is probably the best Navy Arms import stamping I have ever seen, lol.
The mount rail on that rifle is the later style NA mount. It is also screwed on, which is a later feature, instead of riveted like earlier NA guns. The scope mount is the aluminum Type 89 right offset mount. A very common mount. The scope is also proper for what would have come from NA. Very nice.
The configuration and features of that particular rifle do not match with a specific NA "model" of SKS. But Navy Arms would also make you anything you asked for, as well as modify your existing rifle. Since that gun does have a NA import stamp, my opinion is that it was a standard SKS purchased through Navy Arms, that the customer requested the scope package added on.
Cool rifle! Though I'm guessing there was something about it you didn't like because you currently have it listed for sale: http://www.gunbroker.com
Good price though... I should buy it!!

Well hi there.....actually I love it. BUT....a recent non planned purchase dictates I have to sell it. Not sure about posting my auction here being proper......but hey.....welcome to the Sks-Files!
The listing is just part of the conversation so I would think it should be fine.
I was just giving you a little ribbing as I happened to have noticed both your thread and the auction listing at almost the same time. Kinda like a needle in a haystack... I am trying to convince myself it was fate so I can buy it!
Thanks for the welcome, I'm glad to be here!!
Lol.....no worries at all.......of course you need it....😀

Usually "active" auctions are not allowed open air(eliminates alot of competition/shill bidding and general discontent if another member is after the item), we have a place for discussion of them. There is no issues with completed/ended auctions.
To be fair the link above was removed. thumb1
Thank you.
