I got some of this in a recent trade with a buddy, and was about to turn right around include it in another trade where I'd promised to throw in a couple boxes of ammo, then decided I better open it up and see what it looked like before just giving it away. When i saw it had heavily sealed primers, and was brass cased with non-magnetic projectiles, I figured I'd better hang on to it (and gave away a couple boxes of Tula instead :) ).
The sealant actually looks like pink lip-stick, almost identical to what's on that commercially-packed, non-corrosive, brass cased Igmann Yugo stuff that was floating around a few years back.
The writing on the box looks like Russian Cyrilic to me. They're 15-rd boxes. You can see annealing on the brass cases, and again, it's completely non-magnetic, so it's presumably copper jacketed.
Anyone got any intel ?
edit: almost forgot, the headstamp says "IK" and "86".

Yes good stuff. Yugoslavian M67 ammo made by Igman Konjic hence the Cyrillic ИК
Igman is in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The other maker stamp you'll find on this ammo is ППУ, the familiar PPU, from Serbia. Yup, copper jacketed lead core bullet. Corrosive (potassium chlorate compound) primer.
Yugo M67.... dats the good stuff right thar.... thumb1 It is corrosive, but oh well, just it clean good, it also usually burns cleaner than the Russian stuff. Very consistent ammo and accurate thumb1 M67 ammo was made at one of three factories: Prvi Partizan-ΠΠУ (Serbia), Igman-ИК (Bosnia) and PKI-РК І (Rezerva Kapaciteta 1(Reserve capacity 1 as I understand), also now a reportedly defunct factory in Makedonski Brod, Macedonia)
Made in 1986 @ Igman, based on info from the box label shot you provided.
Thanks guys, that was interesting and informative! About that other Igman stuff i have. It comes in a more commercial/less military-looking packaging, (long, rectangular white boxes of 20, shaped like Norinco boxes, not the square boxes like Wolf,GT,etc.), and clearly states in English, "non-corrosive", but the ammo itself appears identical otherwise, down to the thick, pink primer sealant.
Can I trust this stuff to really be non-corrosive ? I've read of other cases of corrosive ammo being labelled non-corrosive.
I'm not about to go pop-off any of this stuff at beer cans any time soon, i'm just wondering.
I will be honest..... I trust no commie made ammo to be absolutely "non"-corrosive. He who provided the lowest bid on components for a run of ammo i.e. primers there wins... maybe its not hardcore corrosive, maybe it's just barely corrosive, you know just a touch.. Different quality standards, requirements and other things overseas as well, it's not under tight QA control like your Winchester, Remington or Hornady ammo here.
I clean the same if it's "non"corrosive or full on corrosive, it doesn't take any longer, and I don't have to worry or doubt. Takes questioning out of the equation thumb1
Have any of you seen the crates of this stuff with green primer sealant? Supposedly true non corrosive...I've only seen it one time.

All of your points are well taken, but I've fired lots of "commie ammo" that was labelled non-corrosive, going back a couple decades, and left many a AK and SKS un-cleaned for extended periods, and have seen no ill effects, whatsoever. Again, I'm not disputing your statements, at all, I don't put anything past these guys, I'm just saying I haven't seen any corrosive effects from Golden Tiger, various Wolf offerings, various Chinese offerings, Brown Bear, Silver Bear, Tula,etc.etc.
In my experience, if it says, "non-corrosive", ,then it's been non-corrosive.....100% of the time.
And, if I were to fire anything I absolutely KNEW was corrosive, I don't think I'd be able to sleep that night unless I ran a garden hose through the entire damned rifle, LOL !!!!
Like I always say.....It's yours, do as you feel you need to do. thumb1
Me...I don't trust anything, but thats just me :) People lie, boxes lie, countrys and governments all lie. Cleaning like it was corrosive for me eliminates any doubt and takes me no extra time or effort. Again, this is just me, If I'm gonna take the time to shoot it, I'm gonna take time to clean it, it's not going to sit cause I'm tired or don't wanna take care of it at that moment. I'm not a big "non" corrosive person, I will go for corrosive ammo before non anyway. All of my x54r, 8mm and just about every other European made surplus ammo I have is corrosive. There is of course exceptions, French, Swiss and American stuff.
Hey, thanks again GM, and I believe we're largely on the same page here. I generally clean right after shooting, too, especially with my most beloved toys, but I've also lightened up a little in some cases, particularly with stuff like AK's and SKS's, especially if I expect to be shooting them again sometime soon.
Hell, it took me YEARS to get over that Parris Island/Camp Pendleton brainwashing conccerning weapons cleaning. Back in the day my freinds would look at me like I was out of my mind feverishly digging into my Colt SP-1 with Q-tips and pipe-cleaners, and running patches till they came out white !! My main shooting buddy still occasionally rags on me over my obsessive cleaning habits back in the 80's. But to me, it was either STERILIZED-clean, immediately after shooting....or it was filthy-dirty !! NO MIDDLE GROUND,LOL!!
