A little birdie told me that there are several Long Barrel M59s available at Dan's. The listing says:
Quote"YUGO M59 SKS LONG
SKS Yugo PAP Model 59 LONG BARREL. A VERY RARE SKS variation. A recent find mixed in with the M59 rifles. Very good condition, similar to our regular M59 rifles. Four available [serial numbers: 019, 037, 040, 072]. Matching stocks, receivers, bolts are penciled.

Goto http://www.dansammo.com/firearms.asp to add to your cart. If they are not sold out already, these will be sold out by tomorrow morning I guarantee.
The last time Dan had 5 in and 4 members here managed to get one each. I know for a fact that Dan's gives preferential treatment to people who only purchase one for their collections and *not* to people who are looking to make a quick buck buying multiple guns low and selling high. If you try to buy multiple guns, you will likely not get a single one. If you have a C&R, this is a good opportunity doesn't come very often!
Good luck! (I kind of wish I could snag one myself)

Edit: As of 9:30 EDT, it seems they are all sold out. :( Good luck to any who tried for one! Please post them up if you get one, especially with your exact barrel length and what kind of stock you get, I always love seeing these rare rifles. thumb1
the link on the website is already dead?

Worked for me thumb1
I grabbed one....hopefully they weren't all gone already!
No no no.... P50 says he bought them ALL.

The lucky ones should get a UPS ship notification email if they entered an email address on the order form. The ones who didn't & know they didn't likely called in and talked to Dan personally to get the bad news...
Soooooo..... who got one? eyeball1 eyeball1
You know he conducts a daily voyeurism session on the Files right?

Just got the
We are sorry to say we sold out of those before your order.

Well, I couldn't resist the chance to get a matching M59 LB. I just got back from travel today and it was waiting for me. Dan's Ammo came through again with a beauty thumb1
Basic stats: TRZ refurbishment. Stamped SN on receiver and stock. Matching SN EP'd on bolt and bolt carrier. The only other visible numbers or markings are parts numbers and the ВК (VK) Vojna Kontrola (military control) acceptance marks and the T barrel proof mark on the left shank. I haven't had it out of the stock but I'm not seeing any "assembly numbers" in any of the normal locations on the parts in any case. The barrel measures 22" from bolt face to muzzle.

Hey PP32 Congrats you lucky dog !! I mean what a beauty clap1 At first I thought you got A M59 reg until I saw the serial number in the pic. Nice crisp stamping s, Beautiful woodstock, Not as in 1969 lol .. bluing looks outstanding ! Great photos... Your very fortunate clap1 clap1
Awesome, absolutely awesome! Glad to see we didn't strike out on this deal. Very nice catch Jon. Is the stock a true LB stock with a short bayo cut or a repurposed M59 / M59/66 with the longer cut?
Lucky #%@$&!
Hey.. you sure its 22"? This longer then your other one?
That's beautious!! Congrats!
Thanks all! I remeasured carefully with a straight edge to get the three significant figures and it's 22.25 inches like my number 21. It has the short bayont slot in the stock. I think this is its original stock.
You suck.

I like the fact you got one with no ep on the mag & tg . It just seems more original . Do you know what year it is ?

Perhaps. It's definitely gone through refurb so hard to say. As far as year I would guess the long barrels were prototypes at the onset of M59 production but I don't think there are any authoritative sources that directly speak to this question.
Whats the exact length of the regular m59 barrel?
Nobody?

Was out of town over the weekend. Will try to measure tonight :)

I got 2 different readings :o The "C" is exactly 20 1/2 inches long, the funky part, measuring the "B" exactly the same way I got 20 and 3/8 inches. I remeasured both twice, got the same measurement each time. think1

Soo... 1.5" longer. Why we have them listed at 1.75" in ghe serial board?

A different measuring stick yielded the same 2 measurements. I'm sure it doesn't mean much, both crowns look the same as well, so it wasn't exactly a recent thing I would guess.

22.25 - 20.5 = 1.75
QuoteThe barrel measures 22" from bolt face to muzzle.
You said the LB was 22" not 22.25".
Which is it?!
It was the careful measurement of 22.25" I posted on page 2. Just trying to keep you on your toes rofl
