Picked up this ACC International/Intrac Maadi at an auction a while back (same time as the Arsenal 326 SKS). Made in Egypt in 1993. Has the neutered bayonet lug. The scope enticed my interest as much as the Maadi. It has that Cold War classic look and some nice features: the lighted reticle for evening/night use (toggle switch on the left), and the 1.7 m (average man height) range finder scale for gauging heights from 200 to 1000 meters 8)
Finally got it out to sight it in and see what she could do today. The PO 4x24 scope and Maadi combo have potential. I shot a three shot group of about 0.5" at 25 yds after I got it zeroed. I wasn't able to do better than 5.5" at 100 yds today, but it was blowing 15 mph and gusty, so I think we can do better on a calm day :)

I believe the stock and lower handguard are original Egyptian. The upper handguard is Polish. I replaced the brown plastic one that came with the rifle.
Weird... I thought the that type lower hg was polish. :-\

I could be wrong, I'm certainly no Kalshnikov expert. I see a lot of Egyptians with the bulged laminate lower HG though.

Dang it, that is cooler than a popsicle Phosphorus, VERY good shooting too! Those stadia range lines have been in use since WWII, crude but incredibly accurate.

Thanks Danny! I learned something new, as I didn't know the term "stadia". It is a simple but effective range-finding technique, and the converse, estimating the height of an object given a known range.
A few more pics.
Components (bolt, bolt carrier, cover) match the receiver:

Russian lesson for the scope, although one can figure them all out just from the context.

This type ranging was used in their tank optics also until the late 60's I believe. Based on the height of the American M48/60 series tanks, again it was crude but effective! The American LAW rocket launcher used the same technology also!
That scope is fascinating, I really like the reticle set up.
Very cool Phos..... how much? bat1

About one "Cleveland" with enough left over for 100 rounds of ammo.
Nice I think I'd buy me a pka Venezuela red dot and put it on there instead!
That red dot looks good 8)
My scope came with the Maadi and I like the 4x magnification, which is why I bought it in the first place. I'm more into trying to shoot longer distances from the bench than shooting at moving targets at closer ranges, so the scope is good for me. Perhaps I should do some of the CQB type of drills and have a rig set up for it with a red dot etc. but... lazy1 chuckles1
Very nice Phosphorus32
Thanks for sharing !

Yeah I'd have it setup to where you could switch them out whenever.
