Title: M75 7.92x57mm ammo
Post by: Phosphorus32 on January 08, 2016, 09:56:46 PM
Mmm, Mauser food  :P

I just received this from SG Ammo today. My favorite ammo supplier.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a 900 round case of this stuff for a while and decided to go for it this month before it's too late. $0.54 per round delivered for high quality PPU sniper, ППУ снајперки, ammo. 1990s manufacture, corrosive (stable potassium chlorate) primed, purple sealant, sealed in an inner spam can...ought to last a while (I'll leave this sealed until I burn through my other stuff). Heavy ball, 196 grain. It runs well in my bolt action Mausers and my Egyptian FN49.

It hadn't dawned on me before that this ammo is connected with the development of the Zastava M76 semi-automatic sniper rifle.  That could be because, before this week, I didn't know about this particular Yugoslavian rifle  :))  However, the M75 and "sniper" designation on the cartridge strongly suggests that the ammo and rifle were designed concurrently or at least sequentially within a year or so of one another.

I sure wouldn't mind having one of those in my arsenal  drool2
