Title: Long barreled yugo #029
Post by: running-man on October 19, 2015, 11:21:12 PM
I guess I need to face the music too.  Most of you guys know (or should know) that I'm not one to blow my own horn, so I'm not sure how I feel about posting this one.  I received the box for this one this afternoon.  It's a very nice gun, maybe not as nice metal as some of the other Dan's guns, but the wood is quite nice. The stock is off an an early C block M59 as it looks like the old number is 252xx.  TG is off an M59/66, magazine is blank with a stamped P/N.

I haven't broken it down yet, but will do that (and get some decent photos and measure the barrel) when I get a chance.

I've been in contact with the owner of 12 (new SKS Files member).  He can't pick it up yet, but hopefully we'll see it in the next week or two  :)

Not when we are trying to establish/narrow the break from 2" longer to 1.75" longer and 'if' there are any random 1.75" past the known break.

Why I autta...   bat1

There is a method to the madness.  And not just madness.......

Just looking at the photos I would have guessed the LB to be 3-4 inches longer. But that isn't taking into consideration the relationship of the bayonet to the stock when the bayonet is stowed.

When everyone saw the listing... He stated in the description that there were 5 guns and listed the serials.  You see something dif?

i called him.  He had one more but the bolt was from a c block 59 and he was going to try to find the match the long barrel.  Never did so I assume he still has it with the non-matching bolt.

50% good news  ;) The owner of #12 does not have stock #21, just a typical refurb M59 stock, but I do plan to reunite his rifle with stock #12 when he gets settled after his impending move.

You're a good man Jon, a good man.

Just make sure that his typical refurb M59 stock actually fits your gun.  If it doesn't fit well, you're better off with the dyslexic '21' that does fit.   thumb1

Thanks. Yes, that's part of the conditions, he'll send his and I make sure my LB fits it first, then send my stock along.
