Was thinking about selling this to recoup some funs from recent purchases. My problem is... I dont really know what its worth or what I can get out of it, and dont wanna sell it unless its worth it. :-\
Im sure some of you guys have seen it before. It has a drop free fixed factory mag, talon extended mag release, rare Capco scope mount, a custom handguard, ebony cheek riser, and ebony butt extension that can be removed if needed. Its a 1967 Yugo with avg bore.
I would like to keep the Nikon Prostaff though...

Made it a poll. rofl
I recently sold/traded this one, albeit with some ammo for a Walther P22 and $250 cash so I think yours could pull $600 with the right buyer. FYI, my buyer is more than happy with the deal.

So is the poll with or without scope?

Sounds promising... I just dont follow values of things like this. I made it of course, but never thought of what it would be worth in the event I sold it. Maybe just set a high reserve and what someone is willing to pay?

Without... I never see guns bring a much more because it has a scope. I may get $25-50 more and the scope is worth about $100.
Heck, my dad likes to buy guns with vintage scopes and split them up and he makes out very well.

If it were me I'd sell it with the scope. You are basically selling a one off that you custom built with quality craftsmanship. Good description with better pics will sell this and I'd add a pic of a target with a good group from this set up letting people know the carbine is 'dialed in'. Build into the price what you want for the scope and if you are close but a little low on an offer then you can always take the scope off. Basic reatil 101, you can always come down but you can never go up.
I'd like to keep the Nikon with BDC. I may have a dif scope I can put in it. Showing a target group is a good idea... Yup, better pics too. It was dusty and dry in the pics above. bat1

"One of a kind camel hump handguard"

"Niger Valley ebony cheek rest"
"Gas shut-off valve for single shot option"
"Rare rock solid Capco scope mount/case deflector"
"Heavy duty Yugoslavian SKS"
My God! I'm starting to want it myself. jd
I don't know what you have in it, but, over 500.00 is my vote), w/o the BDC. I love my Nikon BDC. Stick a cheap Barska 3-9x40 on it (or whatever you have laying around) and try for 575.00, and entertain offers. Just my .02cents worth. The real question should be, how much do you need to get out of it to fund your next project?
Marcus
I like the Nikon with BDC very much... I dont have a next project, its to recoup lost funds because I bought a 1949 Tula Spike bayo gun AND a Long Barrel Yugo m59. :o
I know the scope mount is worth 100 on its own, so I gues your figures are in the ball park.

Here would be my description;
Starting with the robust Yugo M59/66, this custom built SKS variant is a true one of a kind. While being a great conversation piece this rifle will also put the money where the mouth is. The simplicity of the SKS, but fine tuned and ready to impress at the range or put meat on the table during Deer season.
This SKS is a scope only go getter with the barrel cut and crowned for improved harmonics and balance, gas shut-off valve intact for the option of bolt action style shooting for improved accuracy and ease of collecting your brass. Solid D&T mounted scope mount with integral casing deflector adds to the accuracy with included 3-9x40(insert brand) scope that is dialed in and ready to go.(see target pics for groupings)
For ease of loading the bolt has been modified for removal and insertion while the bolt is in the closed position with the mag modified so it functions like a detachable mag. Also included is a custom extended mag release that makes switching out mags a breeze. Then we get to the finely tuned Fire Control Group sporting a crisp clean (insert pull weight) trigger pull.
Lastly, the OEM stock has been nicely refinished with several hand rubbed coats of(insert finish used) and customized with a recoil pad to extend the LOP, an Exotic Ebony cheek rest, and a custom upper hand guard to give a more refined look of wood over the rear sight assembly.
All this can be yours for the fair price of $600.
Not bad. :)
I just put a Tasco 4-16 on it (barely fits) and its not drop free when close... Just the mag is drop free when bolt is open. Minor changes.

Well, that can be quickly remedied and done at no cash out of pocket, but can add a little value to the rifle. I would pull the bolt and mod it before selling. I've never sold a modified SKS that the buyer didn't perk up when I told him about the bolt mod for drop free operation. JM.02
Hmm... If I do that, I would like to do it how the poly hunter bolt is. Hey Powersurge... Think I can get some good pics of your bolt?
Bah!!!!! just skip all the foreplay crap, get right down to the meat :P :o
The ultimate custom bubba, brought back from the scrap yard. Bits and pieces converted into a sexy Frankenstein. With hints of exotic ebony wood, a touch of wanna be sniper, it says I'm different with it's sensually hand rubbed finish. It's mixing old Warsaw pact design with the capitalist flair and ingenuity. Since Bubbadom started spreading like Christendom, my hands have become St. Peter’s Basilica, and it shows in this sexy, sleek paper slayer. Even the camel humped special hand guard speaks, saying there are many hand guards, but only one, like me. For those who are tightwads, or tree huggers and want to save your brass to prevent poisoning the soil with brass, it has a way to save the planet one shot at a time, or of course, for reloading purposes. Even the rare Capco scope mount thingy, screams, you know you want me, you've lusted after it for so long, it can be yours!!! It's got a Nikon scope mounted in the photos, which I will include if it meets my reserve. So, in the end, we have a piece you can take, and spend countless hours, talking about, showing off and admiring. and it saves ammo, cause you will be talking when you should be shooting, and as an added bonus, you will never wear the rifle out. I know you want me (want me), listen to the little voice, saying buy me!!!

Title: Gun
OK, I'm kidding but you know, almost every time I see an add that says just "Gun" or "Gun for sale" I look. It's part curiosity and part a faint hope that the dim wit who titled their add like that might have something rare with a BIN of $50.
For yours maybe this: One of a kind Serbian SKS custom sniper.
Serbian sounds nicer than Yugo IMHO.

LC, it sure would tempt me. I'd love 1 myself. You know how much time/money you have in yours and a quick search on prices...these arnt the cheapest....
Have you been wanting to add a FN 49 to the ole collection?
Yup. Love them
But looks like this is a century gun with the blasted black plastic buttplate. I guess it would still be a good trade?
Don't know much about these but looks like century put a new stock with their own butt plate....Seems if you can find an original brass they arnt a quick fit either.
Looks good still but it would put me on a search for a stock and butt plate. Even so it looks sweet as is. Depends on how much it would bug ya. Value wise , in my book, it wouldn't decrease it too much for me.
Yeah... It seems the original butt plates are impossible to get/find. Same with complete stocks with the plate.
If the value of the FN is at least what you would like to see out of your 1 off SKS then I would do it. If nothing else you would more easily be able to sell the FN down the road.
