I wasn't really looking for this gun, but I came across it on gunbroker and the starting bid was pretty cheap. I put it in my watch list, and kept an eye on it. It seemed to go under the radar, most likely just being viewed as just another plastic stock SKS. Since nobody had bid on it, I pulled the trigger.
This is a green stock K-sports Parka Para (see the guide for more info). The entire gun is parkerized (this one looks grey), and the stock was made for K-sports. It's a re-arsenaled gun, and this one happens to be an 11 mil /26\.
I've never been a fan of plastic stock SKSs, but I gotta admit.... this gun is light, and the stock is really comfortable. I think this may be my "go to" SKS, in favor of all my wood stock guns. I don't even mind that it has a duckbill tapco...it's not like the gun is original any longer.

No, but I'm not sure it even matters on this gun. The receiver cover and bolt carrier are milled blank. The trigger is matching serialed, but I'm not sure if the mags were milled blank or not as well. Joe would probably know.
If it was not numbered, you will need a non numbered mag which may be very difficult to find.
He could grind his own and then go all out and parkerize it. Might as well go all out, it's a nice gun! thumb1
I think I might want to pick one up one of these days....
Yup.. Best bet is to scrub one and park it. thumb1
WOW
You were in the right place at the right time. WOW. Just find a unnumbered mag and park it to match . Unnumbered mags are on evilbay all the time. WOW. I have never found a deal on one of these. cry1

Yes

The first range outing with the Parka Para was a little disappointing. the single pin front sight ring was quite loose and the front sight was moving all over. I took her home and fitted a larger pin and it was nice and tight now.
Took her to the range today, and after sight in I was very impressed with the groupings. The picture below is a five shot group, and that's actually TWO shots on top of each other in the center.
I love the feel and operation of this SKS. This may just be my favorite one :)

Nice.. You saying the FSB was loose?

Nice.. You saying the FSB was loose?
Yeah...the FSB on this gun is a milled down SKS FSB. The part that slips over the barrel is literally just the width of what sticks up, maybe 5/8" of barrel contact ring. It's held in place by only the original FRONT pin of a full size SKS FSB.
Right..
Strange it was loose because the entire length if the fsb is pressed... This one must have an ID larger then the OD of the barrel.
I finally saw the auction on this rifle. As a buyer you live for the day a seller has no clue what he is selling. It was sold as just another bubba. ;)
Nice grab

That's an interesting variant. I've never seen a parkerized SKS. Nice pick up thumb1
