I've got a Russian Sneak. Running-man gave me some info on it already from the survey I filled out. He told me it was dated between 1952 to 1954. I was wondering if yall could help me date it by the serial number. Top cover has nothing on it except for a 5 digit serial number on the back of it. No markings on the stock.

Check out my recent post on my new sneak. It's very similar to yours. We also date it as a 52-54. Unfortunately, no serial code has been cracked yet on the Russian guns, so it's almost impossible to date a gun from that time period without a matching receiver cover.
Does yours have a replacement stock also?
It seems to have a replacement stock. There are no markings on it at all. However it doesn't look like a Chinese stock. The handgaurd looks Chinese though.
I'm not an expert on stocks, or Russian guns by any means, but the stock looks Chinese to me. My sneak has an Albanian replacement stock on it, which is very apparent.

Yes, higher resolution pics to include pics of the stock close up, butt plate, serialized parts etc. The Albanians weren't shy about mixing parts in their Type 56/SKS-45 stockpile (or their Type 53/M44 Mosin carbines either) :))

Keep your eyes out for other Russians. I dated my '53 Tula sneak by finding a couple of the same s/n series that were complete on Gunbroker. With a swapped out cover, it's pretty much impossible to tell, unless you can find a complete one or two in the same series.
