Title: Looking for a seoncd, third, fourth, and possibly fifth opinion

I've never seen this arsenal stamp before:

Maybe it's (that we've got totally wrong in the guide)::

It could possibly be (that we've got totally wrong in the guide):

or:

or a very different looking variation on:

or finally a variation of /926\, something nobody's ever seen before.

What does everyone think?

I believe it is /916\, but I wouldn't jump to saying we have a drawing wrong.. some of these were drawn multiple ways..

Just look at the different 0223's and 416's

I see /916\. Possibly 9256. I don't own any Chinese but I have looked at the drawings and some of them put me in brain lock.

I've never seen a /916\.  It could easily be that they are out there and we haven't seen them.  I just dislike having stuff out there in an FAQ that we ourselves really aren't 100% certain of you know?  Too much like the 1956+million lemming cliff for my liking...

/416\s are another one that I've never seen beyond the 416 M21s .  Lots of /016\s with that little 'tail', but it's a real stretch to call them a /416\ in my book.

I'm still a supporter of the "tail /416\" theory. As there are some that are very obviously /016\'s too. I don't buy that it is just a "bur" when there are many with the tail. In fact, I think the leas common /016\ without the tail might be a /416\ with a broken off tail/stamp.

Supposedly there is a very distinct /416\, but apparently nobody has ever shown one before  ::) But irrelevant.

Yes, I understand what you mean. I have been saving pictures of these for a few weeks now, hoping to collect as many as I can.

We'll get there Mitch. Heck I'm finding new stuff with every new month of GB sales.

I'll get up all my /016\ pictures one day and maybe we can do a comparison on different features. That would be a good exercise to see if the tail is real or a broken stamp artifact.  Could be that both exist and they are distinct.   thumb1

I choose 'other' because its a new stamp and needs to go under the ?? Section because nobody in their right mind can say with certainty what those inner numbers are.

How is this a 1 in the middle when its connected at the bottom left and extends partially to the bottom right?

I want to see a pic of the stamp out of the stock. On initial view it would appear to be a variation on /916\, but as LC states, the left side of the '1' is connected. Could it possibly be a 4? /946\
That is the only other option I come up with as the 9 and 6 are a little too obvious looking to me.

Good call gg...  if that line extends downward  it could be a 946.

I also think a highly stylized 946 is most likely.

Broken stamp, pretty common with these as you know

Little missing chunks of lines are signs of broken lines on the stamps.  How you gonna explain ghe opposite where lines ARE present?

Hasn't broken there yet?  tomato1

Honestly I can see it being /946\ or /916\.  Unfortunately I have a total of one decent photo to go off of.  It's not coming out of the wood for better photos anytime soon unless someone wants to contact the winner of the auction (//http://).  Any takers?  thumb1

Okay, I copied the image over and then blew it up to get a better look from what we have. After doing that I noticed  we are not seeing the bottom line of the stamp either. So, my conclusion from that info is that it is most likely /946\.
