One of the local sporting goods retailers by me has a Russian SKS (well the frame anyhow), w/ a aftermarket plastic stock, 30rd mag, chinese scope mount/receiver cover and the metal gas tube cover. They're looking for $399 for this rifle. Personally I think this is too high in cost since I'd have to find parts to restore it to normal. I already have a bubba'd SKS and don't want to do that to a Russian model. So far they aren't willing to negotiate. Anyone else think this is too high or am I just a tight ass?
You're only a tightass insofar as you're not willing to waste $399 on a pile of trash. Don't throw good money at bad money.
Condition, quality, originality. That's where money should be spent.
Phew, thought it was just me LOL. I tried telling them I could get a full on Russian for $50 to 100 more online. He just stared at me.
I hate to "pile on" Shotz but I gotta take sides with Blicero!

Coinring knows Monty Python? Huh. I have underestimated his cultivation.
Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.
