Nice....

Hey, have you compared the shape of the mag to your russians?   Looks like an albanian mag.   :-\

Oh yeah, definitely an Alby mag there.  That stock looks outstanding, you got a real keeper there fenceline!

It's funny, Albys are the red-headed stepchild in the SKS world.  You'll see numerous posts around the net trashing the build quality, trashing the accuracy, trashing the cruddy condition of most of them.  The numbers don't lie though and they are considerably more expensive here in the states than a typical Yugo, Romy, or Chinese gun.  To be honest, they are giving the Russians a run for their money price-appreciation-wise over the past 24 months.

I personally love em.  One of my top two favorite SKSs in my collection is an Alby in so-so condition (with a Russian trigger group just like yours).   dance2

Yup. Alby mag for sure. And also matching.

Not sure why people hate on them. Lowest build numbers coupled by high attrition/scrap ratio, and all that individuality. When you get right down to it, as far as baseline sks go it is the only unique one out there between the 5 production countries. Just so different looking.

Really happy with this one. Given the very few that are north of the border I'm happy to have one in any shape, let alone one in this nice of condition.

Now... about those Romanians...

For some reason I had the same issue when I bought it. Was happy to see the mag was correct when it arrived.
