Recently stumbled into some old parts cheap , kinda rough shape but the price was right.
Had an old bottle of cold blue out in the shop and decided to give it a shot , after a little prep work - the results turned out okay :)

I think those came out fairly nice!
How was the results compared to your expectations?

Look pretty good in the pics. Most of how they turn out is in the prep work, then how even you get the application.

Very pleased with the final results , cold blue doesn’t work miracles but this project turned out nice !

You are absolutely correct , I cleaned everything good with mineral spirits and then lightly buffed with 0000 steel wool , after every coat I buffed again and cleaned it with denatured alcohol , took several applications but the final results were decent , prep work is everything - I’ve seen some look horrible because it wasn’t prepped right.

I use the same one. Have for years. "Proper prep" is the key to making it look good. You may need to put "several" layers on.

You did a nice job on those. thumb1
