My one and only...
« on: May 13, 2015, 05:53:32 PM »
The only AK platform rifle I have. I have had several, including a Norinco Mak90, but after shooting this Arsenal, I realized I only need one, and that being my Arsenal SLR 101s. Nicest shooting AK platform that I have shot. I sold off the other AK platform rifles, but this one is a keeper.

That's nice, but you can't have just one!

Very nice. Those Arsenals sure have an excellent reputation.

Not sure. I just put a standard AK/SKS sling on it.

Bulgarian, of course!

That wood looks awesome on there... I have one also, but still in poly.
Told the FFL I was heading out to blow $150 off its value first thing! Very sweet shooters...
They are correct though, you can't just have one!  thumb1

Yeah, I'm just not into the poly.  I am old sckool wood and steel guy. I bought this one used and it didn't have the poly stock on it when i bought it. I like the red wood because IMHO it is what an AK is supposed to look like.

I love many platforms, and I generally like to pick the ones I like best of each and stick with it to make room for other firearms I can't live without. I do regret getting rid of the Mak90 though. It was new in the box. When I got it I was told it was never fired, and I always take that with a grain of thought, but when I got home and tore it down, you can tell by the gas rod that it wasn't fired. I only paid $500 for that Mak90, and sold it for $800, so at least I made a couple bills from it. But, do wish I had kept that one too.

The secret is "diversity." I would rather have one of each, over several of the same. I have a couple AR platform, the AK platform, M1 Garands & carbines, The Winchester & Henry Lever actions, Sks platform, Mosins, Mausers, 1911s, Berettas, USGI, Axis, The list goes on. I get to play with nearly any and all platforms so I got to spread the love around, so I shoot many of a specific platform, and then choose which I want to add to my personal collection.. It's easy.. ;)
