Hey Surge take a closer look at this one. You mentioned that maybe it wasn't a commercial import. I believe this one IS a Commercial import. Here's why. Check out the importer. A vast majority of Paratroopers were imported by CJA. This rifle is a CJA. Next look at the bayonet groove and compare with a pick from the Paratrooper page on the Guide. That groove was enlarged with a milling machine.



Oh yeah bubba got a hold of it real bad. He even hacked the bayo lug but that rifle was imported as a Paratrooper

Awesome insight Joe! 

This right here is the kind of thing that makes this place special.  People with experience willing to share it with everyone  along with the data to back up their claims.  None of this "It's a Sino-Soviet from 1956 because I said so, don't you see the star on the stock?!?!?  Duh Noob!" crap that they try to pass off as 'knowledge' back at the 'other' boards.

RM does the initial list and designations, I just add my notes and make changes if I see something different.

That gun perplexed me. It does kinda look like a Navy arms model, but the guys pictures suck. I couldnt see the bayo attachment well enough to see if it was a Navy arms type. And the scope mount didn't look right either. Upon closer inspection, in that one pic it actually looks like it has a k sports west coast rail...

Edit:  I see now that the bayo lug is neutered.  The seller's description swayed me a bit too much I think.  Man that bipod sure looks NA to me, did they sell those separately?

Upon closer inspection, in that one pic it actually looks like it has a k sports west coast rail...

Correct. It is the longer west coast rail. See how the mount is slid all the way forward to the end of the stock relief exposing 1 inch or more of the rail. Can't do that with a NA rail.

I see now that the bayo lug is neutered. 

Correct. The neutered bayonet lug is visible in the first pic

Only LONG barrel wood stocked K-Sports are neutered this way.

Yes. Poly Tech and Norinco sold those Bi[pods as a stand alone SKS accessory. They have a chessey black powder coat, a push button on the clamp and spacers to mount on the barrel if you want. I have one I will get some pics posted.
