18 mil. My first SkS

My Dad and older brother told me Its made in China and I wouldn't shoot that thing if my life depended on it. So I kept it. Yeps 1991. It was up on the shelf  behind the glass counter in row with maybe 25 others all in a row like warriors ! I fell in love with these guns at first sight. Didnt even hold one before I said ' Ill Take one" The rest is history.

Very nice DC! Cool bit of history on your indoctrination into the SKS brotherhood.

A 1973 /216\ I’ve never seen one in person. I like all the different arsenals for the Type 56. A guy could go broke trying to collect all of them but it sure would keep you busy  rofl

My story is exactly the same!

Except it was a Yugo...

....and nobody called it junk....

... and there were only seven or eight on the shelf....

... and I did handle it before buying....

... and 15 years later.....

But wow.  The same exact story.   :)

Yeah and was yours all numbers matching except for the stock, trigger group, dust cover, hand gaurd, receiver, bolt carrier and bolt.. And the buttplate however didn't have a number on it.?  chuckles1 chuckles1

I must say, I totally agree with your Dad and your older brother.

I wouldn't shoot that thing if my life depended on it either.  It would take too long to dig it out the of vault it would be stored in.
