Matching 1959 Romanian beauty

I might seem a lil over excited about my Romy but it is my 1st. I hunt down 90% of my collection local. ( 1/2 the fun is in the chase right?  :))) and this is the 1st Romy I have come across in my hills and what a find she is.

I got uber lucky when my Romy M44 turned out all matching, cuz both my polish M44s came here via Romania and it seems standard protocol was to have a unit field strip their arms, then toss all the parts into the air and then give them 30 sec to put a working rifle back together  :))

Well I must have missed sitting on that lucky horse shoe cuz This 1959 Romy is indeed all matching as well. Now...even if it wasn't, it still would have come home with me...just an added bonus  :)





















Still trying to decipher the name scratched in a couple spots.












Hope ya like her cuz I sure do  thumb1 Now....I can finally get around to a Romy arms family Pic.... 8)

 I love those Romanians! Trench art is a bonus! Luckily it's a GN block SN, since apparently the GM block Romanians all belong to GM  chuckles1

They dont brew the excitement or have the Cintas pants popping ability a Trinity rifle can stir if'en one pops up for sale, they dont carry the clout a common everyday uber rare Russian does, or the recent price spike the Albanians are suffering in, or the common every vender has Yugoslavians still, or the I wish they would allow the mysterious Chinese to be imported.  chuckles1

Oh Yea ! What a beauty AH. I can smell that oh so elegant cosmo scent of perfume from here. Yea sometimes a Romy gets lucky when they play scrabble with their parts over there. Nice going a very hard to find faithful Romy SkS which reminds me of my favorite Tom Petty song " You Got Lucky"  :-*

Glad yall like it cuz man...I'm still in love with this puppy. The pics dont do justice on how gorgeous, albeit a touch well worn, this stock is. Its like you crossed a russian red with the grain of a Yugo.

This thing is built like a tank for sure but very nicely done. Smooth and richly blued like most romanain arms. A cool thing I just noticed, is the stock ferrule has a reinforcement built in like the transitional russian 50's have a spot weld. Cool stuff right there. Is that the norm for Romy's? Will get some pics.

Does it look like the ferrule on my '57?





I had it out to the range yesterday in honor of your fine '59. It was Romanian day with a 1955 M44 I picked up last week spitting fireballs loudly with bayonet extended to further scare the neighboring benches  :o rofl and a 2015 WASR-10 joining the 1957 M56. The Romanian SKS sure is a good shooter. Smacked that 230m gong quite consistently, even in the 20 mph winds  :)
