Century 91/30s
« on: April 15, 2016, 07:34:23 PM »
I saw some posts on FB about LGS getting Mosins recently with a Century mark so I checked there site. They have very good condition and good incompletes. The VG are 159 and come with all the accessories and matching bayonet. I didn't have a 91/30 at the moment so I ordered one. I received a '37 Tula in a postwar stock that looks perfect underneath all the goo. I'll put up some pics when I clean it up.

Is LGS a vendor or an acronym for Local Gun Store?  I'd like to order a couple of grab bag mosins at $159!

Anything under $200 is a fair price these days.  But it doesn't seem too long ago that folks were complaining that they jumped from $79 to $89....

... one day, they will all disappear from the surplus market.  And we'll complain again!  :)

  • The only way to avoid Mosin #2 is avoid Mosin #1!

Ain't that the truth!  If there wasn't something too expensive to complain about many of these collectors just getting into the game would have nothing to do!  chuckles1

I agree under 200 is fair. If Century is selling to the average Joe for $159 some of these places charging close to $300 are gouging imho. If I'm spending over $200 I'd start thinking about a Mauser or Enfield.

This one ended up cleaning up really nice. No signs of rust anywhere and the bluing is good.
