Early Chinese SKS restoration project so far
« on: October 24, 2021, 01:28:17 PM »
My restoration project so far.

This was a "Bubba'ed"  rifle in one of those Ramline folding black poly stocks that my cousin recently inherited from a long time friend of ours who passed away from cancer.

He just used it as a kind of "truck gun" and the folding stock came in handy for that, I guess, but   since the action itself was intact and had not been dicked with, it just cried out for restoration to original condition and configuration.

I was lucky to find an original stock with no serial number stamped in the butt on Ebay,  got a cleaning rod too,  and got a blade bayonet and handguard  from another member of this and other SKS sites.

The original Chinese sling I had in my parts and accessories stash.

So now all I need  are an original magazine and the rear sight leaf & spring,  and the restoration is complete.

What it looked like previously.

It had a couple of those detachable "duck bill" 30 round magazines, which of course can not legally be used on an SKS here in California.
