Title: Marking
Post by: Ikecornell on January 01, 2018, 04:32:48 PM
The first pic is mine, I found the second on the web. Notice they have the same mark in front of the serial number but mine doesn’t have the triangle and is a lower number, I thought it might help (those who know) with dates or whatever.

It's a Chinese Type 56 "G" letter gun circa 1959-60. I can see the lightly struck or heavily worn borders of the triangle to the right  thumb1

Been thinking about this awhile, I didn’t even see that faded marking, what can I use on the finish to highlight everything without making it any worse. Taking It’s well used outside condition into consideration this weapon operates really well.

Do you mean to highlight the markings? I've never done it to any of mine but I've heard of people using grease pencils, white out, chalk, etc.

I've heard simple talc powder works well and is easily removable.   dntknw1
