52 smoke poles and a parts kit residing in the house so far. See list above. If I catch the virus going around on here, the herd will double in no time.

Most expensive $30 you'll ever spend...  rofl

And Sarge, just so you know, GM has a bit of an enabling problem.  Best not to listen to his sweet whisperings!  Until he fell off the wagon earlier this year, he would typically only goad members into purchasing some obscure Mosin or whatnot.  Now that he's delved into CZ's I'm worried *my* willpower won't even be enough!

I'm only up to 27 calibers....I honestly didn't know a person could buy military surplus weapons for the longest time. I bought my first one a Turkish Mauser in Jan 2011, and 2 Mosin Nagants in Mar 2011.

A retired coworker was into them and showed me his collection and I was in awe, and asked where you get them at. That day my wife and I hit a military surplus store in Alabama on the way back to Florida and there was a gun store next door. We found the Turkish Mauser there, and my wife insisted I buy it. I bet she regrets that decision now. 2 months later met said buddy at a gunshow in Alabama and my loving wife insisted I get the 2 Mosin Nagants, its been downhill since.

Occasionally I took a year off from buying since then, due illnesses/health issues or due to Hurricane Michael.

Yeah he's already infected me on the CZ's. Had a few already then he posted his collection on my post. Now I want more of them.

And then there is the whole Winchester vs Remington vs Eddystone 1917 thing. Non-refurb 1917 etc. the rabbit hole goes deep

Well I got the eyeroll over dinner, when I mentioned adding more guns to my wishlist. She said I'm running out of room and need to get off my arse soon.

Guess I need to find a contractor to do the enclosure on the garage (25' x 25') then. That is where the new man cave is going. I'll have all my militaria and military mementos displayed out there, along with the toys. My old gunroom/office/militaria room, I gave up as a playroom for the grandkids, after the Hurricane Michael repairs were done. Plus I gave up the living room (Where my wife and kids had a ton of my militaria displayed) so my wife could decorate it like a normal room, instead of it having a "Vintage Army Navy Store" vibe.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think your wife was trying to off you for some inheritance or something!!!  chuckles1

There's no way that your typical wife "insists" the husband buy a firearm, much less TWO Mosin Nagants!  Two Mosins upfront, wow that is like taking a quad esspresso first thing in the morning.  I can only imagine how many Mosins you have now! rofl

Heck I usually get an eyeroll even BEFORE I bring up that I'm even looking at XYZ particular firearm.  She seems to "know" even before I do!  Anymore it's easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. (though it's been practically 100% ammo recently...well at least up until a couple weeks ago when demand & prices went all goofy...darn panic buyers messing up us budget conscious folk!)

My wife's mentality is this....

She says you worked all those years, did all those deployments, lived in tents, in chemical gear, lived out of a bag. Long hours in the Desert without a day off for months on end. The house is paid for, the SUVs are paid for, all we pay for is utilities, groceries and the occasional credit card bill.

So I'll give you $400.00 a month gun allowance, how you spend it, when you spend it is up to you. Besides playing with guns should keep you out of trouble. Sometimes I hoard my allowance like a miser and let it build up, other times it goes through my fingers like a single GI's pay on a Friday night after payday.

As for the guns, when I'm dead, she'll either divide between the three kids, or let them pick a few, or keep them all herself or sell them. Obviously the family guns will go to them.

People are really surprised that she insisted on me buying the first three. On the two Mosin Nagant M91/30s. The vendor had a pile of them, his sales pitch was "Buy one for $99.00 and get the second one for $99.00".  She goes might as well take advantage of that deal and get of two them. When he goes "They're both at $99.00 ma'am". She goes I know, I just loved your funny spiel, so he'll take two. Got a 1939 Tula and a 1943 Izhevsk that day. That is the day my addiction/sickness started......

Now when I'm looking at guns at a gunshow, she'll ask do you have one of those yet? When I say no. She'll go why not get it?  Or as I'm looking at a gun, she'll ask the vendor if the price is set or is there any wiggle room, before I've made a decision yet. I bought a Finnish M24/91 Lotta Rifle OTD for $180.00 because it looked crusty/rusty, and she pointed out to the gun store owner. Turned out the yellowing on the metal wasn't rust it was chunky flaking lacquer. So I got a killer deal on that one.

For me the hunt for the accessories is always fun (Bayonets, slings, holsters, cleaning rods, etc). I'm short the bayonet for the Eddystone, and short a lockring bayonet for a Mosin Nagant M91. Well I had one for the M91, but when I went to knock it loose I broke the lockring, and those don't exist in wild off the bayonet.

Wow, sweet pile of Mosins there, beats my little pile. Which only consists of the following.

1894 Izhevsk M1891 with a 1927 Tikkakoski stepped barrel
1915-17 Remington M1891/24 with a 1924-27 Böhler Stahl barrel
1917 Tula M1891
1932 Izhevsk M1891/30
1939 Tula M1891/30
1942 Izhevsk M1891/30
1943 Izhevsk M1891/30
1947 Izhevsk M1944
1954 Romanian Cugir Arsenal M1944
1955 Chongquing Arsenal Type 53

The 2 M44s are original matching not forced matched, the rest are mutts.

Well the Turkish Mauser came first, then the Mosins. Her thinking was, it was different than the Mauser, so I really needed them.
