Because this Chinese T56 came in a batch from Albania in which there were russians mixed in the bunch. Many russian receiver covers found their way onto chinese guns.

Since Uzz is in Europe, it would seem to put a damper on the 'US importer swapped the covers' talk that was so prevalent way back when. Looks like a pretty nice Sino-Banian there, very well worn but probably still mechanically excellent. I wonder if the stock is matching too? thumb1

Ah, thats right. I had forgot where Uzz is located!
Shure looks like a Banian... eh?
-
Yes, I think this SKS came from Albania.
The cover is reminiscent of being used on this rifle for many years, the visual appearance is identical to the receiver.
The image is taken in the importer's warehouse.
It's an post April '57.
Serial 2'407'291 ; Arsenal 26 marked.

Looks like a good rifle with some history!
Are you waiting to receive it?
-
Yes, it’s in the way from distributor to reseller. I hope
This week I can take it.
Where I can find some info/history about simo-banias?

Keep in mind, this outlines these guns as they were imported to the US. Same guns over-all
