I picked this up really cheap, IMO, and I just don't know what to do with it. Should I leave it as it sits (trust me I can't believe I'm asking this) or should I get it restored-ish?
It is not matching. It appears to have a partially re-blued barrel (tried to photograph). The stampings on the barrel are not crisp for the most part. Also it looks like a bulge all around the barrel just below the top of the tube. Looking down the barrel it does not appear to be bulged from within. I was thinking a squib made the bulge but I'm not seeing it. I will bore scope it if I can not sure I can go down .22 barrel, however.
It's a Winchester Mod. 90/ .22 LR/ w/ Octagon barrel.
Please give me your thoughts. I just wanted it to shoot and I knew collectibility is likely out the window, again IMO.
Here she is....

SOB!!! I should've put this in the rimfire section. Damn it I guess a mod will boot me and take my prize away. See you all in the rimfire section! chuckles1

I would be happy with it as long as it shoots and hits a pie plate at 50 yards.

These were often ridden very hard, as many were “gallery guns” at county and state fairs. I have one in 22 short with a rear sight leaf that’s a bit bent. Cool little .22s and they’re Winchester’s thumb1

Shoot it.
Shoot the everloving daylights out of it.
I had a Springfield miserable loader that just about everybody wanted to try out.
Always seemed to me that everybody wanted one, but never bothered to pony up the cash for one.
