I joined the CZ family...finally
« on: March 14, 2025, 01:33:25 PM »
I have wanted a CZ75 since I was a kid. I remember seeing them on all those cheesy 80's shows like Miami vice. I also remember a big article in Soldier Of fortune magazine on the CZ75 in the 90's that my dad had a subscription to. I think around 1996 that praised the design. I put off getting one for buying other guns that were more scarce on the collection list.

I always been a huge fan of the Browning hi-power and the CZ is basically just a hybrid hi-power. I bought a CZ P-01. Not a fan of decockers much and love single action most but decided to give the decocker a try on this purchase. I plan to mostly have this as a bedside gun. I have retired my Sig Compact 320RX temporarily just to give the CZ a try for a while. I will probably buy a standard single action CZ75 next year as well for the love of nostalgia. Who could have just one? :) I find it interesting that the P-01 has a NSN stock number, its also on the frame like the Czech issued SP-01. None of the other CZ's have Nato stock numbers so that's pretty neat.

I do like the fact that metal is making a comeback to the point that they are even making metal frames for the Sig 320s now as an upgrade which is really neat. I have enough plastic. I did add a Cajun gun works spring kit myself. I did everything except replace the hammer, trigger, and sear cage parts (the cage is intimidating to most) but will pretty soon. The DA pull is already light years better than stock. The trigger spring was a pain, I over an hour trying to get the replacement back in because the needle nose pliers I had were too short. I have since bought a much longer pair for any work in the future. This is not an easy handgun to work on. It does take some good dexterity and my small hands were a plus I think. I did not like all the aluminum grips that a lot of guys seem to like to add to these so I found some nice red tiger stripe grips to break up the black which are awesome and cost far less than most I have seen. Anyone else like CZ's? I wish CZ had not discontinued the convertible Omega's which can be DA or SA with an easy quick change of parts. I would of bought one of those instead.

Welcome to the CZ club! They are addictive, I own a bunch. My most recent acquisition is CZ 82. I'll post some pics once I get back home.

Very nice

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.
