"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date! No time to say hello goodbye, I'm late I'm late I'm late"... rofl

Hard not to have rabbit holes since most of the items here are from regimes that most of us can't understand the language, there is spotty (at least for us) documentation, etcetera.  It makes "Through the Looking Glass" seem positively sane.

All the ones i have seem to be bxn or bxn68.
A real stripper clip collector would have one bxn of each year, just saying. rofl

Just took stock of my stripper clip stash (meager as it is);

'31' x 10
'621' x 6
'948' x 2
'MADE IN CHINA' x 1 (this one is odd; it looks like it was ground smooth and overstamped)

None of the factory codes are in a circle. All are blackened and I have no idea how or where I came by them. Probably a gun show 25+ years ago.

Do we know how to distinguish those made for AKs or does it make any difference? It seems to me that they could be used interchangeably?

There's supposed to be good ones - with no stamps, and crappy ones without stamps. Any ideas on other distinguishing characteristics?

No marking Yugoslavians. Other distinguishing characteristics: They're phosphated.

No marking Chinese: they're probably crap. They're blued. I'm not aware of any unmarked Chinese that are good.

31 marked Chinese: they may be crap or they may be originals. Different sized 31 marking, and different appearance looking end on. The good originals have grooves that appear a bit more square than rounded. Empirical approach, they work and the NC Star 31 marked ones do not work, or work poorly.

Czech and Russian ones are marked.

Mostly crap, but some of them will work OK for some rifles. I bought a hundred of them. Out of the whole batch, about 20 would work reliably in one rifle.
Total crap shoot.
Being the frugal (cheap) bastid that I am, I use them to store ammo in a wood crate. At least it looks cool.

I just recently got access to a couple of thousand stripper clips at a LGS, most are factory 619.

Hoo sent me some strippers the other day, and there's some stamped "China".
They seem to be good ones. The rounds are held securely.

Got these a few weeks ago. L-R: 3Tk, BXN, 211. The 3Tk's came with the 'pin' tool.

What's the pin tool do?

That looks to be a Gas Port Cleaning Tool.

Pulled this from my stripper clip thread from last year to add it into this one.

Most are 3Tk which can be solo, in a diamond, in a square, or in a circle. Some also have U, P, I, or C stamped on them and then there are 31, (31), 23, 13, 58, and 141 stamped clips as well. I also have a bunch of 386 stamped Chinese clips.

My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Sounds legit. It was mixed in with the batch of 3TK's.
