First Albanian 56-1
« on: December 14, 2024, 03:37:47 PM »
I just joined and this is my first post so Howdy everyone. I scored an all numbers matching except for the stock 1968 56-1. This is my 8th SKS but first Alby. The stock has been replaced as the small divot behind the rear sling is visible. It has the soldiers initals carved into the right side rear stock (GA). I found an early fabric sling and metal oiler for it but waiting on delivery. These are the only pictures now but will post more once accessories arrive.

Welcome and congratulations on the Albanian. The Albanians really put their stamp on the venerable SKS with their functionally non-critical design changes.

I've been researching the Albanian SKS and discovered the interesting history, that's one of the reasons I joined here. I have 4 Chinese, a 1950 Russian, 1960 Romanian and a Yugo 59/66-1 and been waiting on the right deal for this one. Thanks for the welcome.

Great collection with representatives from the five countries’ SKSs that are relatively easy, and not too expensive, to acquire.

Welcome aboard and nice git.
I've got a '68 & a '70 Alby. I think they're pretty cool looking. PAX

Welcome!  Great carbine and sounds like a nice little collection! thumb1

Albys will always have a special place in my heart!  Looks like a very nice one. Great that you acquired an oiler for it, those are fairly difficult to come by these days!

I found out how scarce the oilers are and can't believe I actually found an early metal one, perfect for my 1968. The plastic ones are out there and a little more easier to find.
