Thanks, Jon.  My prior rifle was a Noreen like you had but never fired it.  Also have a Serbu RN-50 which I did fire and is very accurate, weighs 18 lbs and has a felt (to me) recoil only a little more than my Garands.  The RN-50 might go for sale when the BFG-50 comes in since Serbu doesn't do trade ins :))

Nice! I have not tried the Serbu rifles, as the only .50 I’ve sat behind is my Noreen. Recoil is very manageable on it and the bolt is very easy to work. I simply greased it ahead of time.

I’m looking forward to seeing your new rifle  thumb1

Cool  8)

Has a similar minimalistic look as the Noreen but a bit less industrial  thumb1

And with a weight of 18.75 lbs, it is 60% of the weight of the Noreen.  The RN-50 is even more minimalist and weighs 17 lbs, though I think with the Serbu stock and bi-pod the weight goes to 18 lbs.  Since I've fired the RN-50, can say that it is a manageable rifle, the stock and muzzle brake absorbing most of the recoil, making it a pleasure to shoot instead of a chore.  Since the BFG-50 uses the same basic stock configuration and muzzle brake, it should be equally fun to shoot.  Pictured below is the RN-50 from the Serbu site.  I love the company logo, a stick figure in a sight ring.  Once I get the optics on, I'll send more pix of her.

Now with the scope.  Vortex Crossfire II 6-18X44 V-Brite (moa).  It came from my RN-50, so I know it will stand up to the BFG-50.

Bmont, Haven't fired her yet, but I will soon.  Vehicle stopper is right.  Most of my ammo I bought from a friend is either API or API-T :).

Shot her a couple of weeks ago.  Had a 14-17 MPH wind from the right firing at 150 yds. using Greek HPX 73 M33 ball ammo (MG grade, not MOA stuff).  Very nice trigger out of the box.  That muzzle brake and the 1" padded stock REALLY takes up the felt recoil.  I likes thumb1

Good stuff, Bruce. Do you reload your own rounds? I'm guessing you get 5-10 rounds per 1lb of powder for those rounds.  chuckles1

No, that's one round I don't reload.  I had a Rock Crusher many years ago but had no use for it at the time.  Got plenty of rounds that I bought off of a friend.  Was going to fire some API, but along with the wind, we had a fire warning here the day I fired it.

My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

GG, It was either the boards or his swinging plates, so he opted for the plywood.  Looked like Swiss cheese anyway.  He as a 3"-4" limestone slab part buried in his earthen backstop.  The rounds punched right through it then shattered it bat1.
