Title: Chinese Model 213A Tokarev 9mm with Double Stack Magazine
Post by: firstchoice on February 08, 2020, 12:07:10 AM
Last weekend a friend and I went to a local gun show. A dealer had this on his table and we picked it up for $300.00 OTD.

It's an as-new, unfired Chinese Model 213A Tokarev in 9x19mm. This is the model that utilized the double stack magazine. If I understand correctly, they used the Browning Hi-Power magazine as the model for the magazine and Hi-Power mags can be used in them, although I have yet to slip in a Hi-Power mag to verify that. It came with one 13rd. magazine which is serial numbered to the pistol. It also came with the Tokarev black leather holster with cleaning rod.

We took it apart and checked it out. All the original grease was still in it, never had a round through it. (Not sure if they test fire these at the factory, or not?) Excellent condition. Anything that looks dirty or rusty is just the grease that's still on it. I took these pics just after the purchase with my phone and haven't had a chance to take a more complete set with a decent camera yet.

I'll update this post with better pics later. I wanted to ask about the history of this model. From what I've heard, this was only made a short while, (one or two years?), because of the ban placed on China and the fact it was only designed for the American market? Not sure of the validity of that statement, though.

What's the date of manufacture?  Arsenal /66\ is one I've seen on other Toks, so I didn't know if it works on this made-for-civilian type or not?

I was looking at the holster since I know nothing about either of these. Nevertheless, your statement of being made for the American market seems to fit with the holster anyway, otherwise it wouldn't have Made In China stamped into it. If it was made for the Chinese market it wouldn't have any designaters in English on it. That's what it seems anyway, we don't stamp our Made in America stuff in Chinese script (美國製造).
