Noreen ULR
« on: August 14, 2018, 11:06:57 PM »
Well, I'm in my 50s, so what the heck, I need a 50  :))  Besides my "modern rifle budget" hasn't been touched in years  :)

Who hasn't lusted over a 50BMG Barrett or similar rifle but thought they still needed their late model car to get to work. Well, I spotted this single shot rifle at the LGS at a "can't say no" price that oughta scratch that 50 itch.

Specifications
34" barrel
8 groove, RH, 1:15
32 lbs (w/o scope)
single shot
integral scope
integral rail
Timney trigger
Leupold VX-2 6-18x42 scope

Recoil reduction
32 lbs  :))
big honkin' muzzle brake  :o
big honkin' Kick-Eez butt padd  :P
stiff springs built into the collapsible buttstock  banana time

Yup, it has an austere industrial look to it, but it quickly grew on me. Nothing impractical, just what is needed. Noreen has a good rep and they're not too far from JH's neck of the woods up in Belgrade Montana.

$2050 MSRP!  :o  (I know you didn't pay that)

Seems like an interesting hunk of steel there.  32 lb is 4 SKSs!  :o  They have a little video on their website:

Let us know how she shoots...what does 50BMG run nowadays, $3+ per round?  Do'h!  doh1

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Nope, I paid $1197 + WA sales tax (= $1300). $2050 rifle with ~50 rounds through it, $600 scope, $100 Plano roller case.

You can find some remanufactured ammo for under $3 per round. I ordered some PMC at about $3.35 per round delivered from Bud’s. 50bmg will never be cheap since there’s a lot of metal and powder involved.

 drool2

Why did I click on this thread!?

Belgrade is not far enough away...to not tempt my tax refund from vaporizing next year.

A .50 cal is kind of a bucket list thing for me. I want to be able to explode pumpkins in my yard from my normal shooting spot on the side of the neighboring mountain. The neighbor's reactions would be hilarious.

I will have to keep an eye out locally to see if any pop up.

My wife is a little grumpy now.

rofl yeah, sorry (not really) JH.

Figured you’d appreciate a nice neighborhood-produced rifle.

A 50bmg has been a bucket list item for me too but the Barretts are way beyond what I want to pay. This no frills single shot is right up my alley. At $3-4+ per round I really don’t need a semi-auto so I can dump $30-40 down range in as many seconds  :o rofl

Oh...so many things I could say about gluttony....or compensation...but hey, size matters and gluttons are happy. Besides, a .30 cal might expand, but that 1/2 inch will never shrink regardless of what it comes out of.  I did dick around with a .58 cal and a 69 caliber muzzle loader for a while... rofl I've been tempted by the 50s, do a .50AE, I have the Desert Eagle already, maybe a 50GI in one of my Glocks, the .500 S&W drool2 and even the BMG, I've  come close to doing it... but, oh hell... You ENABLER.. plain and simple.. bat1

This is just great, ya had to post the Ron Jeremy rifle...out fricken standing.... Must resist temptation.. there is a Serbu RN-50 36inch heavy barrel for sale locally...  fart1 If I'm seen in the obituarys.... No explanation is necessary..and no, ain't none of ya getting my stuff's... I'm taking it all to Vahalla with me rofl
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

Don't forget to add the cost of a pumpkin to each round...  rofl

A single shot is likely all my shoulder would need to be satisfied and sore....although it might be an opportunity to try shooting southpaw if it's too much fun to stop.

Much like Gallagher's Sledge o' Matic...I imagine this puppy could remove unwanted walls from fingerprints.

Thank-you, I’m proud to be an enabler. I learned from the best :) You could mount that Serbu on a Subaru and have a nice suburban tactical  :))

:)) yeah, so far I’ve avoided stamp collecting :P Although every time I walk into the local hardware store I gawk at the 20mm Lahti.
