WooHoo!!!! Finally a Romanian bouncecool1 Just give me a moment.... :o drool2
Poor Romanians get no love what so ever, it seems.... How can people not like a rifle that sports a leather sling as sexy as that.... That ain't no cheap 3.99 gumpy canvas off green bland sling. That sling is the leather...the rifle is the lace... It's like a serious bad arse bondage outfit for a hot lady of the night all rolled into one wonderful package.
I love their weapons and the history of that little nation.... And even though it's finish was screwed up by another person..it looks really dang good thumb1 I'd buy it... Hell I'd buy one with no numbers that matched....... Oh wait, I already bought one like that. I love that little mismatched bastard child too.
Vlad Țepeș would surely over look the mistreatment of the stock...... No pointy light pole up the tail hole for you... The man and nation both have a really cool interesting story thumb1
I'll forgive the lack of cleaning rod.... The sling offsets that. rofl thumb1
-
Haha, yep, no cleaning rod. I think I'm cursed in that regard. Romanians are my favorite variant too. 57' out of the way, 3 more to go. 4 if I count no dates, but I don't wanna get my hopes up.
The slings on these are gorg'. I think the one on my other Romy I used to have was the wider one though. Or maybe I'm just imagining it.
-
There are 2 widths I've seen. No clue what the real difference is, maybe one is later made... I might dredge up a no date..one day.
I can say a Romanian M44 Mosin looks sporty in that sling too thumb1
-
nice work, looking good. thumb1

I bet. I should look into the sling size thing to see if anyone knows anything. Doubt it
nice work, looking good. thumb1
Gracias thankyou1
-
I've never really found anything on why.. manufacturing ranges seemed to be the biggest...... Then I saw someone question the maker of the slings, was there more than one producer.....
-
Interesting. Well regardless, they're totes my favorite slings. Wish they weren't so hard to find & pricey, I'd buy em for all my guns.
-
I think you did a great job on the stock Worm. I have two '59's

If they were cheap and common.... there would be no allure to them... they would just be a common boring sling like all of them NCStar Chinese 3.99 ones..
Finding the sling is almost as fun as finding the rifle... you have a sense of accomplishment when you score... thumb1

Damnation, W! From your description of the original condition, I'd say A+ for bringing the ol' girl back to "I'd be seen with her" condition. Great job!

Waking up to a beautiful well seasoned Romanian in cosmoline is better than that first cup of coffee in the morning. Just by the looks you can hear the English in its Eastern Bloc European accent speaking out to the Worm.. " Can you feel its smell " ? :-* :-* chuckles1
Romy's don't get much better than that one ! As is, It is in Full Romanian Military Dress. Oh wait ! No cleaning Rod ? Thats 20 push-ups GO !!! chuckles1 chuckles1 thumb1

I love the Romanians. Nice job bringing that stock back to life. I haven’t seen such a coarse grain stock on a Romanian before. Really nice grain.
-
Muchos gracias fellas. She does have coarse grain, reminds me of the yugo stocks, sort of.
20 push ups! Done!
Just kidding, too early :P
-
I was going to say in respect of your Romanian being a 1957 that corrects the foul. But if you already did the push-ups my bad chuckles1.
I think 57 is the only year I don't have. Your very fortunate. The sling is probably an easier find then the Gun.

Yeah, they seem to be pretty uncommon. I've only collected something like fifteen 57' serials. Neat to have that's for sure. They all are. Something about the Romanian SKS's that scream quality

Wait! Are you saying you have 15 '57 Romanian SK's? Or '57 guns in general?
-
Lol nah, just the serial numbers from ones I've seen.
Having fifteen 57' romys would be insane haha
-
OK, just checking. chuckles1
