Checking in from Oregon
« on: July 23, 2017, 04:33:27 AM »
Moving to Eugene next week.  Proud owner of an '80 French tickler Chicom still in cosmo.  It's the nicest SKS I've owned and currently my only one.
WTB:  early ('50s), numbers matching, excellent condition Chicom SKS

Nice!    Welcome aboard!   :)

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

I am off to Brookings here shortly...to get away from all the bleeding smoke in Montana, where I welcome you from! :)

I look forward to moist clean air...unless I choose to alter my mixture. chuckles1

Mostly by choice.  My wife is in the wine biz so moving somewhere btwn Napa and Yakima was always in the cards.  An opportunity in the Willamette Valley just happened to come up first.

I love TX, but always hated the heat.  It's getting really crowded and overrun from all directions too....at least that's my perspective.  I always loved the PNW, and lived in Seattle for a year and really enjoyed it.  Living near the mountains (public lands - have NONE in TX) and the ocean is almost a dream come true.

Living in Washington now...that is what I miss the most about Oregon...public lands. Almost Everything up here is owned by the paper mills....= gates= pay to play..... >:(

It's kind of fun accidentally finding keys to those gates on your keychain... Being married to both a keymaster and a gatekeeper is kind of neat...although, most of those lands have been raped of forest...or are currently burning. I really look forward to the trip to Brookings, despite it being a painting job...we actually honeymooned there. Oregon is a beautiful state....I too look forward to some ocean time.

Hell yeah.  We spent 3 days in Yachats in early June, and I have to say it's one of my favorite places I've been.  When checking on real estate out there, I was floored at how cheap ocean front property is.

I heard winters are pretty mild up there.   :)

Srsly though..I'm originally from Michigan. The possibility 70s and 80s in Dec. will be missed however.
