AB on the stock

I picked up this Arsenal 26 with what appears to be the letters AB on the stock. Anyone know what this might mean? The previous owner bought it 2 years ago still covered in cosmoline. Thanks!

Without pictures, it’s harder to gues. If it was purchased just two years ago still in Cosmoline then it was probably one of the imports from Albania and it was someone’s initials carved into the stock, commonly called trench art.

Thanks for the pic. Yup, trench art created by a bored Albanian. They’re a bit faded from the sanding and coats of BLO.
