Nice surprise at the range today
« on: November 05, 2014, 03:19:26 PM »
Was at the range today with my new carbon AR, and as I was about to leave I noticed a few guys setting up and one had a really mint SKS. I asked him if I could take a look at it, and it was a beautiful /26\  24 mil gun. It had the ribbed front guard. He said he bought it new in the 80s and has the box and all the stuff that came with it. The import stamp was CSI. It wasn't any special model that I could see, but man it was immaculate. :)

Nice!

I have a CSI import, with the french tickler.. Not a 24 mill, but an M21 (0296), they are probably the nicest builds to arrive on our shores IMO.

Jianshe quality and practically brand new.

Yeah, I was really impressed. He said it has only been out of the box a couple times in 30 years, and it showed. The bayo was never even installed and is still in the box.

I have two Chinese that I consider "nice", lol. The stock on this gun is what set it apart...very bright colored, and not a ding or scratch on it. The sling was still bright green. You could just tell it's been tucked away.

One question though... were those guns still sold packed in cosmo? Because they were telling me how much of a pain it was to clean off, even thought they were the original buyers.

Oh yes... loaded with grease.

Should have offered them a trade + a little cash.   8)

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.
