I'd be tempted at those prices, as restore projects or *shudder* parts guns.

I would grab any shootable $200 SKS, or $250 SKS, I could find.

The market here is higher than classic for bottom barrel classic guns.

recently I've seen (reno last gunshow):

matching rearsenaled russian : $600

11 million 26- $500

"ultra rare early all matching russian" (this dude was so high)
... 1951 tula. nothing special. rearsenaled- $800 (did I mention the high part?)

a couple others, chinese, commercial or midrange 26, some with "features" like 30 round sticks or plastic stocks- $400ish

chocolate chip vet.

rule 1: do stuff
rule 2: don't let "lacka" prevent you from doing stuff
rule 3: finish some thing every day

I would have grabbed both of them at those prices and most likely I would have stripped them for parts to be sold individually and made a good profit!   ;)

I know this is an older post but Last December at the Oaks guns show in Philadelphia, I didn't see 1 SKS under $499.00 I offered $500.00 to a guy who had a very nice and clean Paratrooper and he sniveled at me and said, "Nope"!  Gotta do better than that, he was asking $600.00.  :o.  Pristine and re-arsenal Russians were up in the $799.00 to $899.00 range.  Heck, I feel lucky now I just scored a nice /636\ for $300.00   Not sure where everyone is from but I'm in the Communist Socialist Republic of New Jersey and SKS's are scare out here.   The Jackalope is easier to find!  ???   When you do see them, they are mostly "Insane" price's.   I'll be headed up to the December show again this year, can't wait to see the prices then...  nea1
