My 1989 M59/66

I recently sold one to get this gem. It's a 'C' prefixed 1989 M59/66. I also replaced the tritium vials as mentioned in my intro thread. She's a beaut and I'm happy to have her!

Thanks! It is one of the cleaner ones I've seen. I also cleaned/oiled the leather with Obenauf's. That stuff works great.

Never been a fan of the 59/66 because of the utterly useless (to me) Grenade launcher, lob sight ladder,  and gas system mods.

Having said that...

Holy smokes, Batman.  That's a really great looking rifle.

What type/nationality of rifle grenades did you end up buying? I have a couple of the Yugo M68, a couple of the Isreali practice grenades, and two each of two variations of the early US-made M31 Rifle Grenades. I've been trying to find various types of Grenade Launching Cartridges, (GLC), and various 7.62x39 blanks. I've read that Barnaul blanks work well. Not too underpowered, but doesn't launch them too far, either.

I also have the M68 grenades and the pouches to go with. PM me if you want more info on those. I am also looking for the M60 grenades. The practice version of them are called VTTM M66 (Vježbovna Tromblonska Trenutna Mina) and held a smoke charge for practice.
