I'm asking about this for a bud of mine who is non-computer. (yeah, there's still folks like that)
He's got a ranch-rifle that looks to have the integral scope mounts on the receiver. Are there rings from ruger to fit, or does he need to go with a different base with picitiny rail?
I know somayas have these rifles, and I'd appreciate a few opinions, and being pointed in the right direction. jd

Someone was just talking here about having a few of these, but I cant remember for the life of me who it was or where.
If it came that way.... likely a standard ring size that fits it. Any pics?

Jd, I've got a mini -14 ranch rifle with the scope mounts on the receiver. Mine came with rings from Ruger. If you need a picture I can take one later when I get home.

Bbush, you're the guy I (and LC) were thinking of.
My buddy musta got this rifle used and without the rings, and he hasn't had any luck finding them in the stores around here. Can ya tell me if the mounting lugs are the same as standard Ruger rings such as come with M-77's and such? jd

Jd,
I do believe the mounting lugs are for standard Ruger rings. Here are a couple pictures of mine if that helps.

That does help, and I don't know how he got the idea that this was a problem. I think I'll just print a copy of that pic to show him. Our gunshow is in about a month, and I usually see Ruger rings there, sometimes dirt cheap.
Thanks bbush. jd

Here is another method, I think the B Square mount will fit the Ranch Rifle .

GM, I looked at those mounts for my non ranch mini-14, but heard they would loosen up and not hold zero. How does your work? Any issues?
-
I strongly suggest the use of threadlock compound thumb1 For what it is, it worked, after the threadlock, I don't know if any other methods are any better..
