A Mauser BYF42
« on: October 09, 2017, 06:02:57 PM »
My latest acquisition in the P.38 world is a Mauser BYF 42 the left the Mauser plant in January 1943.  It has an early frame (no hump above the trigger) and an early slide (the extended extractor slot).

The left side.

The right side.

1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms... It doesn't matter how many Lenins you get out on the street begging for them to be taken.

Awesome year/code, not the easiest to find. Bring it to the SOS p38 meeting!

I probably will along with my two police P.38's and my 1938 FN GP High Power.

Here's the only P38 in my "collection." I picked this up about a year ago. Nothing too special, just a "CYQ" Spreewerk. But, considering I thought I would never own Nazi marked P38, I'm pretty happy with it! All the numbers match, it bears the eagle-88 waffenampt and came with a "jvd" manufacturer's code magazine. The serial number indicates it was made in May of 1944 and shows typical late-war finish.
