Hello everyone. New here but not to sks. Ive owned a chinese type 56 and loved it but had to let her go. So years ago in my younger days i thought to build my own sks well the project lost steam quickly. Now here i am back with more knowledge and the will. First off im not doing this because i cant afford a ak. Im doing this because i have a yugo 56/66 reciever lying around lol. I want to make a more compact sks battle rifle but still retain the original nature. I wont be using no goofy black plastic or scopes. First off i got a chinese 56 barrel and after long hand filing got the barrel torqued. Next step is cutting the barrel to the first step or roughly 17 inches and checking whether i need to open up my gas whole. And yes there will be progress pics as soon as i figure out how to post them.
