Hello from Canada!
« on: December 12, 2021, 01:34:21 PM »
Hey Guys, thanks for the add! I’m an Englishman living in Canada so to come from a country where guns are all but illegal, I really appreciate the chance to collect them here. I focus on Milsurp and try to get a true original and a bubba version of each rifle I bring into the collection. That’s the same for MOST rifles but not for the SKS  :) … I have 8 in total and they’re all very different. From Russian to Chinese to parade guns, tactical to SKS-D’s. Such a wonderfully simple, yet reliable firearm and one that has fortunately (up to now...) escaped the naughty list!

I have a million questions and will be reaching out to this group for sure. Thanks - Darren

Welcome from your southern neighbor in Washington State  :)

I have a few (dozen) SKSs, and other milsurps, but no Bubbas. There are a few people here who like to make modifications, so you’ll find satisfaction for your split personality  :))

:)) :)) :))... LOL... I guess I attempt to justify my split personality (or SKS-OCD!) by only adding the Bubba AFTER an untouched and 100% original...   thumb1

Welcome to the files dazbland. What part of England you from? I lived there for 8 years growing up. 4 in Bicester north of Oxford and 4 northeast of Cambridge. Nice collection there BTW.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

Welcome from SW Missouri, dazbland!

Do all the SKS-D's brought into Canada have the bayonet lug removed, as a rule? That's the first one I've seen, if indeed that's what the second from the *Edit: right LEFT in your OP is?  It may be a new rule for Canadian firearms?  dntknw1  Always good to see the SKS family, though!

Some of those scope mounts are interesting. I hope to see how they are mounted up close in some future posts.  thumb1

*Edited, apparently due to the the fact that I'm still learning right from left. Sheesh... :-[   fart1  "Was that your right or my left?"  chuckles1

Greetings from the desert southwest in the US!  Looking forward to seeing what’s what in those photos!  thumb1

My wife is here by way of Canada; Newfoundland to be exact. We haven’t been able to visit for the past five years due to multiple varying reasons and depending on what craziness Ottawa enacts maybe not for the foreseeable future…
