Very expensive Yugo
« on: January 25, 2021, 09:14:35 PM »
Is there some reason I don't understand that would justify the price of this rifle?
And how could a rifle made in 1979 get into the USA without an import mark?

Incomplete link, it just takes us to Gunbroker, but not to the actual firearm.
My Avatar is a pic of the real "Ghost" SKS in honor of xxxsks(joe). It is a pic of a fully decked out SKS in Capco hunter's kit. This was mine, the only other pic I had ever seen of one was Joe's.

No reason. I will say I have been thinking more and more that many of the NRs buying firearms are in 2 camps. Paranoid for what's coming and buying stuff to replace the ARs they are used to because they believe Biden(the left) will take them away or, this is all Soros money and the bidders are buying to thuen have them destroyed. Third possible option is Antif/BLM arming themselves.

Then there's the stupidity element. That is always high in the probability rankings.

The seller probably just hasn't spotted an earlier very small import mark, or it's under the wood, as Samco sometimes did. There are some people who may be taking the seller at his word and thinking it's a bring back from somewhere. Regardless, I don't get the price  :o

Don't discount the GCG (grey carpet guy) effect either.  This seller isn't GCG, but he is a top 100 seller with 2399 feedbacks. and likely has a fairly large following.

It's nice, but not *that* nice.
