I've got one that's about 1K numbers from yours, but unfortunately it was in an ATI Monty with a receiver cover mount   :(. I saved it the best I could. Timbersmith, T200, 5 round mag, Romy sling. PAX

Sorry guys, the bucket is giving me grief. Looks like it's dumped all my picts that it hadn't before. Just checked and they're gone from other sites. PAX

Ugh, hate that for you PAX.  They are the gift that keeps on giving.  Honestly, I suspect they will go under at some point.  There is too much bad blood between them and previous users to repair their reputation even with new management and the changes they recently made.  Hope you get it worked out.   thumb1

Nice [0141] Type 56 PS Carbine you've got there JSSKI.

I wonder why only KFS ended up importing the PS-marked guns? Lots of questions still to be answered. I'm glad they did, I'm just curious as to how none of the other 100+ importers latched onto a single PS-marked carbine? Only in the world of the SKS, I suppose...

They also were exclusive to the PolyTech Aks..

Read this.. I would guess there was a good inside connection they had other importers may have lacked.

It'd be interesting to peel back some of those mystery layers from, (in this rare case), the people that were actually there and in the know. I may take another run at finding out more from them. They were helpful, friendly, and talkative when I first talked to them when ordering my Certificate of Authenticity for my /416\ PS SKS. (Hey, I was spending money with them!  thumb1) I'd still like to get at least a close estimate of how many PS carbines that they imported. I can't see that being a state secret and seems it would only help their company history as the sole importer of that model. Who knows? It may happen!  :) nea1 chuckles1

It would be interesting to know some numbers  thumb1

Somewhere, I remember reading there was 3 pallets brought in... No clue on how many that would equal, I'm guessing a couple hundred. I don't see them as being that rare.. they seem to show up more than the... Albanians or Romanians, but also in lower numbers than than Russians, Yugos or many other Chinese.

More like uncommon..so

I could see possibly 3 conex boxes... legally, weight wise... you could haul roughly 5050 8.5 pound SKS's down the road in a conex box with "no" packing material, thats between 42000 and 43000 pounds of SKS rifles. Figuring in some pallets and shipping material.. with 3 shipping containers.. you end up with a lower number(shipping material equals weight), so somewhere between 9,000 and 12,000 SKS's spread between 3 boxes. The number could be a little lower if they were shipped in the 10 rifle wooden crates.

Even at 9000 Public Security rifles..... your at almost twice the number of Albanians that's estimated to have been imported and still just a very small fraction of the Russian/Yugoslavian/vast other Chinese rifles imported.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

I wish I had known to look for these.
There were Romy sewer pipes everywhere for cheap in Arizona.
Way back when (early 90's), there were cardboard barrels in every Mom & Pop gun store with Chicom SKS's for $29.99

I didn't want one, but for that price, everybody was buying them.
A couple of months later, some of the guys at the shop where I worked would sell them to me for 20 or 30 bucks because they needed beer money.
I had my original purchase, plus 5 or 6 more in a closet. They were just cheap Chicom guns.
When prices rose to 70 or 80 bucks, I started selling the closet inventory.

Hindsight being 20-20, I should have sat on all of them.
I also wish I had known what to search for.
