My “modernized” SKS
« on: December 18, 2023, 10:43:30 PM »
This is a rifle I only ever plan to use for fun (self defence isn’t a right afforded to the peasants in this country) so duckbill mags aren’t really a detractor for me. Overall I enjoy shooting this rifle more than any other SKS (minus my yugo with its dummy grenade).

Nice.  What nationality is she?  Did you do the work yourself, or did you buy her in that config?

Chinese. It had been modified when I got it but I replaced every aftermarket part that the previous owner used. The receiver is just a holdover until my project of an SKS that takes type 81 mags and uses the bolt hold open is completed. On a side note do you have an archive of either modified or factory ak mag compatible SKS rifles?

All the US imported commercial rifles can be found at: http://chinesesks.weebly.com/commercial.html though there are a sprinkling of Canadian-centric things there.

If there is something you know of that you don't see, let us know and we can look at putting it up.

Would also love to get some pics of the type 81 if you ever want to post it up.  We don't get to ooggle over those all that often own here in the states.

To finish it off, you need my G3 adapter and modified mags. They allow for pouch carry and rock and lock mags Carry in a vest MUCH easier.
There is but one language in the USA, English.

I’ve modded my other receiver to use AK pattern mags. Do you offer an option for a paddle mag release? Or even one made for tapco that I could weld on a tab to the mag catch.
